Senior leaders trying to bring Nawaz, Nisar closer

ISLAMABAD: Once again the rumours of differences between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar are circulating and a likely meeting between both of them on Wednesday behind this scenario was gaining special importance as Chaudhry Nisar was not seen in the several past meetings at the PM House.
Senior leaders tried to remove the perceived differences between the two leaders. Sources in Islamabad are expecting that both the leaders would meet on Wednesday in order to remove their differences. It was disclosed that when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held an importing meeting on March 25 on the Karachi operation at the PAF Base Faisal in Karachi, which was attended by the Sindh chief minister, the corps commander and the DG Rangers, but Chaudhry Nisar was not there and his absence was felt at that occasion. It was further revealed that the prime minister had held high level consulting meetings on March 28th, 30th and 31st on ongoing fighting between Saudi Arabia and Yemen which were attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz along with COAS General Raheel Sharif but Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar was not seen in these meetings. However, being a senior leader in connection with national security his views and opinions about this situation had great importance.
When a senior leader of ruling party was contacted, he said that rumours of differences between prime minister and interior minister were baseless.The sources said that Chaudhry Nisar was senior leader of PML-N and he had special views about governance and performance and he had expressed these views several times in front of party leadership and stressed that about two years had passed and the party should improve performance in connection with solution to the problems being faced by the people. They said that the interior minister asked the party leadership to bring forth competent people. Giving this difference of views name of rift was incorrect, they added.
