ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be leaving for Saudi Arabia on Saturday night to perform Umrah.
Highly placed sources told The News here Thursday that the prime minister would have an important meeting with his Saudi counterpart Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his stay in Jeddah.
The schedule of the visit would be finalised today (Friday). Some federal ministers and top officials would also accompany Shehbaz. He would be staying in Saudi Arabia for two days. The sources pointed out that the prime minister would renew his invitation to the crown prince for visiting Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz would have important consultations with PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today (Friday).
It would be Prime Minister Shehbaz’s first foreign visit after assuming the office last month. Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malikiy is proceeding to his country to receive the prime minister of Pakistan.
