ISLAMABAD: The Establishment Division has informed the National Assembly that out of 38 federal secretaries, 26 federal secretaries belong to Punjab, 7 belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 5 to Sindh but there is no secretary from Balochistan.
According to the report of Establishment Division presented to the National Assembly, the federal secretaries belong to three provinces but not a single federal secretary is from Balochistan. The information was provided to the question of Syeda Shehla Raza, who inquired from the Establishment Division names and domiciles of federal secretaries and whether any quota was reserved for the provinces with regard to posting and appointment of federal secretaries. The Establishment Division in a written reply informed that no such quota has been reserved for the provinces.
According to Establishment report on Federal Secretaries, from Punjab Secretary Aviation Division Capt (retd) Saif Anjum in BPS-22, Secretary Cabinet Division Kamran Afzal, Secretary Commerce Division Capt (retd) Muhammad Khurran Agha, Secretary Defense Division Lt General (retd) Hamooduz Zaman Khan, Secretary Defense Production Division Lt General (retd) Muhammad Chiragh Haider, Secretary Federal Education and Professional training Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry BPS-21 (Additional Secretary Incharge, Secretary Finance Division Imdadullah Bosal, Secretary Foreign Affairs Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ms Shahera Shahid, Secretary Information Technology and Telecom Division Hasan Nasir Jamy, Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination Nadeem Irshad Kayani, Secretary Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Jawad Rafique Malik, Law Justice Division headed by Raja Neem Akbar who is Senior Consultant and additional charge of post already assigned to him has been extended for a further period of six months w.e.f 08-02-2024, Secretary Maritime Dr Iram Anjum Khan, National Food Security and Research headed by Additional Secretary Capt (retd) Muhammad Asif, Secretary National Heritage and Culture Humaira Ahmed, Secretary National Security Division Waqar Ahmed, Secretary Planing. Development and Special Initiatives Awais Manzur Sumra, Secretary Overseas Pakistanis and HRD Arshad Mehmood, Secretary Privatization, Jawad Paul, Secretary Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Yousaf Khan, Secretary Power Division Rashid Mehmood, the post of Secretary Revenue Division is vacant and division and post of Secretary assigned to Malik Amjad Zubair Tawana, who is presently posted as Chairman FBR, Secretary Science and Technology Ali Tahir, who is additional secretary in BPS-21, Secretary Water Resources Division Syed Ali Murtaza and Secretary to President of Pakistan Muhammad Shakeel Malik.
From Sindh, Secretary Establishment Division Inamullah Khan Dharejo (Sindh-R), Secretary Human Rights Allah Dino Khawaja (Sindh-U), Secretary National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division Ifthikar Ali Shallwani (Sindh-U), Secretary Petroleum Division Momin Agha, who is additional Secretary Incharge (Sindh-R) and Secretary States & Frontier Regions Ms Nahid Durrani (Sindh-R).
From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the post of Secretary Communication Division is vacant and the post assigned to Ali Sher Mashud, who is posted as Special Secretary Communication Division, Secretary Economic Affairs Division Dr Kazim Niaz, Secretary Housing and Works Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash, Secretary Interior Aftab Akbar Durani, Secretary Narcotics Control Division Munir Azam, Secretary Railways Division Syed Mazhar Ali Shah while the post of Secretary Religious Affairs Division is vacant and assigned to Additional Secretary Syed Attaur Rehman.
