Two killed in separate robbery incidents

FAISALABAD: Two people were shot and killed by robbers in separate incidents. In Firdous Colony, armed robbers shot 44-year-old Sajid during a home invasion. Sajid’s family rushed him to the hospital, but he died on the way.

Near Stop 77 of Chak 77 area, Sitiana, on Sunday night, dacoits opened fire resulting in the death of one person. The assailants fled after looting cash and a motorcycle from the deceased. According to details, In Oudh Basti near Chak 77 of Sitiana, Irfan withdrew Rs. 50,000 from a bank’s ATM when three dacoits looted him. During the robbery, they opened fire on resistance, critically injuring the victim who succumbed to injuries in the hospital. Police have registered separate cases

Case registered after factory workers’ deaths: Khurrianwala police have registered a case against the owner of a factory and his son for the murder of two individuals in a factory fire incident. According to police reports, 18-year-old Zia Sadiq and his uncle, 38-year-old Shahbaz, were packing fireworks in Javed Iqbal’s factory on Sunday night. Amidst a delay in payment, a heated argument ensued between them. Meanwhile, Javed’s son, Zahid Iqbal, threw a lit cigarette towards them, causing an explosion in the fireworks, resulting in a fire. In the chaos that followed, both the uncle and nephew were fatally injured. Upon the request of the deceased Zia Sadiq’s brother, Osama Sadiq, the police have filed a case against the suspects.

According to the police, the suspects have obtained interim bail, which has prevented their arrest. It should be noted that on Sunday night at seven o’clock, after a powerful explosion in the factory, Rescue 1122, with the help of five fire tenders, continued the rescue operation for two hours before bringing the fire under control.

UAF’s endowment branch extends date for proposals: The Endowment Fund Secretariat University of Agriculture Faisalabad has extended the date of receipt of project proposals till 30-4-2024. Proposals are invited from public sector universities/ organizations with an established administrative and financial system for the funding in research and development.
