Islamabad DIG issues stern warning to cops teasing general public

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police (Operations), Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bokhari, uttering dissatisfaction over the performance of the operational police of the federal capital police, said that he was receiving severe complaint from the general public against the non-professional, irresponsible and criminal attitude of the Patrolling and Picket police who demand Nikah Nama and irrelevant documents from the couple and other citizens to get bribe from them.

The DIG (Operations) has established WhatsApp Complaint Service for the citizen who are victimized to lodge complaint against the corrupt police officials, saying the severe action would be taken against those officials found guilty. “The public is being harassed by demanding inappropriate documents for the motive to get extortion in the late night,” the DIG (Operations) said and warned the corruption and abuse of authorities would not be tolerated. DIG (Operations) visited CIA, Investigation Section and Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) and examined the performance of the investigation department of the police and issued directions to improve their performance.
