Germany shows interest in educational cooperation

Islamabad: Ambassador of Germany Ina Lepel met Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Engineer Muhammad Balighur Rehman at his office here on Tuesday and showed interest in educational cooperation between the two countries.

Ms Ina told the minister that a delegation from Afghanistan along with the delegation from Germany wants to visit Pakistan for educational and academic purpose and to build good relations among the three countries.

The minister welcomed the ambassador and showed keen interest in receiving both the delegations here in Pakistan. Relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan are getting improved and education is the best way to bring both the countries more close to each other, said the Minister.

They talked about the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education), Minister of State said that we are in second phase of TVET, as we have started working on the curriculum and we have entered into the implementation phase.

He added that a couple of days before Ministry of Planning development and reforms granted Rs50 million for the 12 new TVET schools, which would be completed by next year. Education scenario is getting better and we are hopeful that we would be able to achieve SDGs in future.

In the end, Minister of State presented the token of appreciation to the Ambassador of Germany.  The meeting was attended by the Federal Secretary and joint education advisor.
