An emergency has been imposed by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) in the city on the occasion of Shab-e-Mairaj, to be observed with traditional reverence on Wednesday (today) night.
All staff has been ordered in for duty, as KWSB Managing Director Misbahuddin Farid cancelled the leaves of all essential staff and directed the relevant authorities to keep a vigil all over the city to ensure all the sewerage lines are clean and drinking water supply to the citizens continues unhindered.
He has also directed the officials to check that all roads leading to the city's graveyards were in a proper state.
