A man was gunned down in Machar Colony on Monday. According to police, the incident took place near Saraji Chowk within the limits of the Docks police station. Rescuers transported him to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, where doctors pronounced him dead. The victim was later identified as 50-year-old Noor Hassan, son of Ghulam Subhan.
The police said Hassan made his living by installing sound systems and was the father of three children. While quoting eyewitnesses, the police stated that the man was killed by a local thug, namely Tariq Saraji, outside his house over unexplained reasons. Police have registered a case and initiated further investigations.
Man injured
A person claiming to be transgender was severely injured in Nazimabad when attacked by an individual with a sharp weapon, who then fled the scene.
According to police, in Nazimabad No 3, a person also known as Kajal, alias Nagan, was severely injured in the attack. The police stated that the victim was assaulted by a person named Kashif, both of whom are habitual drug users.
The police added that the victim apparently was not transgender but pretended to be one to earn money through begging. An argument ensued between them during drug use, after which Kashif attacked Kajal with a sharp weapon and then fled. The victim was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in a critical condition.
Police are searching for the suspect.
