Five individuals sustained injuries in separate incidents of firing across various parts of the city on Saturday.
In Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, within the jurisdiction of Mobina Town police station, one person was wounded in a firing incident. Identified as 24-year-old Zubair, son of Mustafa, he was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. According to SHO Chaudhry Nawaz, the victim was present at his shop during a robbery attempt when unidentified assailants opened fire. The incident ensued when the suspects attempted to rob a rickshaw driver, leading to resistance and subsequent firing, resulting in Zubair's injury. The suspects managed to flee the scene, and a case had been registered while further investigation was ongoing.
In the Aziz Bhatti area, one person sustained injuries in a firing incident amid a personal dispute. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Muhammad Sajjad, son of Ghulam Akbar, was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
Another individual was injured in the Sir Syed area and was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Identified as 30-year-old Sunny, son of Nawaz, the incident reportedly occurred during a robbery resistance. In Gulshan-e-Iqbal locality, a shooting incident at a tailor shop resulted in the injury of one person. The victim, identified as Azad, son of Javed, was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical attention.
Furthermore. in Manghopir area, one person sustained injuries in a firing incident and was transferred to the Civil Hospital for treatment. He was identified as 22-year-old Fazlur Rahman, son of Abdul Jameel. The police are currently investigating the incident.
The series of firing incidents have raised concerns among residents, highlighting the need for enhanced security measures in the city.
