GDA leaders slam raids on Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi’s houses
The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has alleged that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), since once again coming into power, has started conducting politics of vendetta by targeting its opponents in the province.
In a joint statement, GDA leaders Safdar Abbasi and Sardar Abdul Rahim condemned registration of FIR against former federal minister Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi.
“The Zardari mafia, intoxicated by the power of the fake government, has started revenge operations against its opponents all over Sindh,” they said.
They claimed that police on the instruction of the PPP-led government raided the residences of Jaoti in Naushehro Feroze and Nawabshah on Thursday night, arrested his eight employees and took away six motorcycle and other valuables.
They said that instead of taking action against the dacoits who were abducting and killing innocent people all over the province, the government was more interested in harassing political opponents and booking them in false cases.
The demanded the government withdraw cases against Jatoi, release his employees and return valuables that were taken away in the raids or else the GDA would take to the streets across the province.
Separately, Sindh United Party leader Zain Shah also condemned raid on Jatoi’s residences, saying that the PPP had started its revenge operations against political opponents.
Shah said the government should not consider Jatoi alone and know that the whole GDA stood beside him. He added that the patience of the public had already become thinner because of the deteriorating economic, and law and order situation.
He said the PPP should know that power was temporary. He maintained that the government was setting worst examples of political revenge using state machinery. He accused the government of abusing its power and termed the cases lodged against Jatoi fabricated.
