Robber killed in ‘encounter’

LAHORE:A suspected robber was killed in an alleged police encounter at a milk shop in the Johar Town area.

Reportedly, four suspected robbers had made a robbery attempt at a milk shop. A security guard offered resistance. Meanwhile, a patrolling police team reached the spot on information. On seeing police, the suspects resorted to firing.

In the exchange of firing, a suspected robber received bullet injuries and died. Three of his accomplices fled from the scene. Initial investigations suggested that the suspects were involved in many incidents of robbery.

Two brothers hit to death

Two brothers died in a road accident in the Sundar area. The victims were riding a bike and going somewhere when a speeding car hit them. The victims received injuries and died. They were identified as Adnan Maseeh and Samar. The victims were residents of Sultankay.

Their bodies were moved to morgue.

Meanwhile, a passerby who was injured in an exchange of firing between two groups two days back in Sabzazar has died during treatment in a hospital.

The victim identified as Ghulam Kibriya was passing by the place when an armed clash between the groups was reported. A stray bullet hit the victim. He was admitted to the hospital where he died. His body was moved to morgue.

Five die in road accidents

Around five people died, whereas 1,162 were injured in 1,103 road traffic accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 529 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 633 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Man commits suicide

A 25-year-old man has committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills in the Nawankot area. Reportedly, the victim Ishtiaq was frustrated due to personal reasons and he swallowed poisonous pills. His condition deteriorated and died. The victim’s body was moved to morgue.
