The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has failed to develop a consensus on legislation that would ensure smooth functioning of universities.
First, the KP Universities Act-2012 was passed by the provincial assembly that was amended in 2015. Recently, the KP governor has issued an ordinance ‘the KP Universities (amended) Ordinance-2016’. One wonders what the universities would do after three months which is the constitutional life of an ordinance unless it is promulgated again. It seems the provincial government is playing with education.
