The Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) will organise one day pre budget seminar today (Tuesday). The welcome address will be given by Rector CIIT Dr S. M. Junaid Zaidi.
The seminar will be inaugurated by Special Advisor for Revenue to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar.
The session on State of the Economy and Debt will be chaired by Vice Chancellor Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) Dr Asad Zaman.
In this session Dr Hafiz Pasha Former Finance Minister will present an overview of the state of the economy and Dr Ashfaque H. Khan, Dean NUST Business School will talk about the issues related to public debt.
Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor Mushahid Hussain Syed will chair a panel discussion on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Member of National Assembly of PML-N Zahra Wadood Fatemi will chair the session on Poverty and Social Sector Challenges and former Federal Minister for Commerce Abdul Razzaq Dawood will chair the session on Trade Balance of Payments and Energy Sector Issues.
The post lunch session on Fiscal Policy Investment and Social Sector will be chaired by Chairman Board of Investment (BoI) Dr Miftah Ismail and Professor of Economics NUST Dr Ather Maqsood Ahmed will present an Analysis on Tax Policy.
