Punjab police, private college sign MoU on education

LAHORE:An MoU was signed between the Punjab Police and a private college (Shamim Ramzan College of Health Sciences) for the higher technical education of children of martyrs and employees of Punjab Police.

The IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and CEO of the College signed the agreement at a ceremony held at the Central Police Office. Under the MoU, children of police martyrs will be provided specialised degrees/courses in pharmacy technician, dispenser, medical lab technology, operation theater technology, and radiology & imaging technology absolutely free.

Meanwhile, children of in-service employees will receive a 50% discount on all course fees. Police employees can avail these educational scholarships at five colleges located in Vehari, Okara, Jhang, Arifwala, and Shorkot.

IGP meets cops, families

The Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab met with cops and their families at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Wednesday. The IGP handled their applications and issued orders for the solution to their problems. He ordered solution to the salary issue of mechanic Saqlain Ali.

The IGP reviewed promotion requests for sub-inspectors (SIs) Umair Javed, Shahzeb Tariq and Zia-ul-Haq. The IGP forwarded the request of declaring Head Constable Muhammad Qadir as Ghazi to the DIG Welfare. The IGP also handled recruitment issues of Constable Ali Muhammad's son, and issues of SI Abuzar Amjad and lady trainee SI Kaynat Shahzadi's leave request.
