Muqam’s son vying for Senate seat
ALPURI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and Member National Assembly Amir Muqam’s son Niaz Ahmad is contesting election for the Senate general seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Niaz Ahmad had also served as the district nazim of Shangla from 2015 to 2019. He had also contested the election for the chairmanship of Alpuri tehsil from the PMLN platform in 2021 but had faced a crushing defeat at the hands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Waqar Ahmad Khan.
Niaz Ahmad then went into hibernation but he resurfaced during the general election campaign for his father Amir Muqam and uncle Dr Ibadullah Khan. Amir Muqam is now Minister of States and Frontier Regions with an additional portfolio of National Heritage and Culture while Dr Ibadullah is the opposition leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
