Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has selected MARGO as Islamabad's official mascot to give the federal capital an identity.

The name MARGO is derived from 'Mar' representing Margalla and 'Go' signifying prosperity or flourishing. It resembles a cheetah (Asian leopard cat), MARGO reflects the swift progress and dynamism of Islamabad. Wearing stylish sunglasses and a muffler, MARGO exudes sophistication and modernity, reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of the capital.

The official mascot of Islamabad was selected following presentations given to the CDA board by the advertisement companies at its last meeting. CDA officials have also planned to display the official mascot at prominent places like Convention Centre, Pak China Centre, entrance of Daman-e-Koh, parks, business centres and other places to make it an identity of Islamabad. It is expected to be crucial in promoting tourism and fostering civic pride. By uniting Islamabad’s diverse populace under a common symbol, MARGO aims to become a beloved icon, representing the collective aspirations and achievements of the capital. The mascot would be displayed at tourist places along with messages about keeping the environment clean, avoiding littering and protecting wildlife.
