Minister inspects matric exam process

LAHORE: Punjab School Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat paid a surprise visit to the Lahore Board Examination Centre and observed the matriculation examination process here on Monday.

The minister visited the control room and reviewed the process of monitoring the candidates besides reviewing the facilities being provided to the students in the examination centre. During the visit, the minister interacted with the students appearing for the exam and inquired about the environment and attitude of the staff. He reviewed the measures taken to prevent duplication in the examination centre as well as observed the attendance process of the candidates through the thumb machine.

The minister expressed his best wishes to the students taking the exam and directed them to study with hard work and dedication. He also praised the board administration and the examination staff for the better arrangements in the examination centre.

Rana Sikandar also directed the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) to maintain transparency in the examination centres, provide a better environment to the students, launch the thumb machine attendance project as soon as possible and directed to prepare a plan for the screen marking.

Meanwhile, Secretary Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab Dr Farrukh Naveed also visited the examination centre for visually-impaired students and detailed information about the question paper. He also directed the board officials to submit a comprehensive report separately on completion of class 9th and 10th exams. BISE Lahore Chairman Dr Ansar Azhar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
