A Karachi-based non-profit has launched the process of showcasing its mass IT education programme to top tech companies, investors and information technology experts from other countries after benefitting thousands of Pakistani youth from underprivileged families.

The mass IT training initiative of the Saylani Welfare International Trust has benefitted thousands of students from middle and low-income families especially after the non-profit joined hands with the president of Pakistan and Sindh governor to provide education in the latest computer fields.

A top-level delegation from the trust in this connection recently visited Riyadh and attended the top tech event, LEAP. The delegation also witnessed the rollout of the ‘Vision-2022-23’ for setting up IT cities in Saudi Arabia. The LEAP event was held as part of the same Saudi vision.

The Saylani delegation held meetings with representatives of top tech companies including Zoom, Saudi Digital Academy, Coursera, UAE Blockchain, and OpenAI. The meetings were held to explore employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia for Pakistani tech experts and graduates of the Saylani’s training programme.

The delegation comprised the non-profit’s Chief Executive Officer Madni Raza, Adviser to Saylani Chairman Amjad Chamdia and Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Ghazzal. Upon their return to Pakistan, the delegation members informed the trust chairman and founder Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri that several top global companies had shown interest in investing in the proposed IT cities to be set up in Saudi Arabia.

They said graduates of the IT training initiative could prove to be a valuable asset to the mass tech initiatives being launched in Saudi Arabia.
