The law-abiding citizens of Karachi cannot be left at the mercy of street robbers who don’t hesitate claiming innocent lives in their crime sprees.

The newly appointed Sindh home, law and parliamentary affairs minister, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, said this in a statement issued on Sunday. The home minister took cognisance of the tragic killing of a young person, Farhan, due to firing by armed robbers in the PIB Colony area of the city.

He asked the Karachi additional inspector general of police to submit a detailed report on the incident to him. He also offered condolences with the bereaved family members. He ordered the Karachi police to ensure the arrest of the killers of Farhan and submit a compliance report in this regard. He said the Sindh government would not spare the callous street criminals who resorted to killing innocent citizens who resisted their armed attempts to snatch cellular mobile phones and other valuables.

He said the street robbers involved in resorting to firing upon their victims would be given stern punishment as per the law. The home and law minister assured the bereaved family members that the killers of Farhan would soon be arrested.
