The committee formed to search for vice chancellors in Sindh has selected three candidates for the post of vice chancellor of Shaheed Banazir Bhutto University Nawabshah.
Dr Madad Ali Shah is at the top of the list, Dr Yusuf Khushk second and Dr Tariq Rahim Soomro third. A bureaucrat member of the search committee told The News that after completing the interviews, the three names were sent to the home department for clearance so that the intelligence agencies could clear them. Later, the names will go to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who will interview the candidates to decide the final candidate.
It should be remembered that 26 candidates were shortlisted and 22 candidates appeared for the interviews. Among the candidates who were interviewed are Dr Ibrahim Kerio, Dr A Fateh Chandio, Dr Usman Kerio, Dr A Sattar Jamali, Dr Madad Ali Shah, Dr Tariq Rahim Soomro, Dr Rafiq Chandio, Dr Zahid Chand, Dr Arshad Saleem, Dr Ghos Bakhsh Narejo, Dr Intizar Lashari, Dr Imam Din Khoso, Dr Ahmed Sultan Jatoi, Dr Muhammad Murry, Dr Qamar Mehr, Dr Aizaz Soomro, Dr Manzoor Abro, Dr Munir Shah, Dr Noor Sheikh, Dr Aamir Shar and Dr Yusuf Khushk. The search committee meeting was presided over by Chairman Sindh HEC Dr Tariq Rafi, while Secretary Boards and Universities Noor Ahmed Samoo, Secretary HEC Moin Siddiqui, Secretary Colleges Sadaf Anees, retired bureaucrat Sohail Akbar Shah and Dr Pirzada Qasim attended.
