Tariq Jameel to address KP lawmakers
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has said prominent religious scholar and preacher Maulana Tariq Jameel had accepted his invitation to address the provincial lawmakers.
Asad Qaiser, who belongs to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in a Tweet said Maulana Tariq Jameel would pay a visit to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and talk to its members. He also posted a picture on Twitter in which he is seen sitting with Maulana Tariq Jameel, who is apparently ill and lying on a hospital bed.
The Speaker didn’t specify when Maulana Tariq Jameel would pay a visit to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in Peshawar. It may be added that the PTI head Imran Khan has also been in touch with Maulana Tariq Jameel and had been seeking his advice.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif too had in the past invited Maulana Tariq Jameel, who is a leading figure of the Tableeghi Jamaat, to talk to his cabinet and provide them guidance in the light of Islamic teachings. The Maulana is also popular among celebrities, particularly cricketers and artistes and several of them became practicing Muslims after seeking his guidance.
