Unauthorised deductions reported in BISP payments in Shangla
ALPURI: Beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme have reported unauthorised deductions ranging from Rs300 to Rs1000 in their March installments.
Retailers are allegedly siphoning off these amounts from eligible women across various areas in Shangla district.Despite repeated complaints, the issue persisted for some time. However, when contacted, the Director of Benazir Income Support Programs in Shangla, Syed Feroz Shah, said he had intervened and taken action against three individuals involved in unauthorised deductions, with their IDs being blocked and recovery measures initiated.
The unauthorised deductions, ranging from Rs300 to Rs1000, are deemed unacceptable, especially given the financial struggles faced by beneficiaries. Locals have called for urgent measures to curb the exploitative practices by retailers.
