Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the party will continue its constitutional, legal and democratic struggle against the “poll rigging and mandate theft”.

Addressing a reception held in his honour at New Sabzimandi on Monday, he said that the imposed government installed by unfair means was destined to doom and would not survive longer. He said that the JI would enhance and pace up its struggle against injustice in the days to come.

He recalled that former city Nazim and JI Karachi emir Naimatullah Khan had developed the New Sabzimandi, but unfortunately the successive regimes had ruined it and now the traders in the market were deprived of all the basic necessities. He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party rigged the local government elections, practically reversing the potential development of the wholesale market.
