Prices skyrocket ahead of Ramazan

LAHORE: A new wave of increase in the rates of almost all perishable items has been witnessed ahead of Ramazan while the new chief minister has yet to take action to check artificial inflation and massive overcharging.

Consumers are adversely affected by the alleged failure of the district administration to check sellers to overcharge the buyers. This week price of chicken was further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs385-395 per kg, sold at Rs440-470 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs10 per kg, fixed Rs573 per kg, and sold Rs610-1100 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs55-60 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg, B-grade by Rs7 per lg, fixed at Rs50-55 per kg, and C-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs70-80 per kg. The price of onion A-grade further gained by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs240-250 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, B-grade by Rs45 per kg, fixed at Rs220-230 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, and C-grade gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at sold at Rs220-230 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade gained by Rs52 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs140-145 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs125-130 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg. The price of garlic local was reduced by Rs125 per kg, fixed at Rs375-390 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, and Garlic China gained by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs590-610 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, Garlic Harnai by Rs80 per kg, was fixed at Rs440-460 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg. The price Ginger Thai increased by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs500-515 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, Garlic Indonesia reduced by Rs55 per kg, at Rs230-240 per kg, sold Rs400 per kg. Ginger China was gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs500-515 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg. Cucumber Farm gained by Rs11 per kg, fixed at Rs63-66 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg. Brinjal price was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. Biter gourd price further increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs335-350 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg. The price Spinach farm increased by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs20-22 sold at Rs50-60 per kg, spinach local fixed at Rs27-30 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg. The price of lemon China gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg, lemon local was fixed at Rs350-360 per kg, not available. Green chili price A-grade further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs280-290 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg, B-grade by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs300-320 per kg. Turnip was unchanged at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs50-80 per kg. Fenugreek (Methi) gained by Rs3 per kg, priced fixed at Rs45-48 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.

Pea price was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs100-140 per kg. The price of different variety of apples gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs58-325 per kg, sold at Rs150-500 per kg. The price of Banana A-category gained by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs175-180 per dozen, sold at Rs240-250 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs120-125 per dozen, sold at Rs180-120 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs80-85 per dozen, sold at Rs130-150 per dozen. Dates Irani further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs490-510 per kg, sold at Rs800 to 1200 per kg. Pomegranate danaydar gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs420-440 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Pomegranate khandahri by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs320-335 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, Pomegranate bedana by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs670-690 per kg, sold at Rs1000-1200 per kg.
