Traffic police organise Women's Day event

Rawalplindi: City Traffic Police organised an event in connection with the International Women's Day here on Friday.

City Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimur Khan who was chief guest on the occasion highlighted role of women in every segment of society and life. The event was also participated by senior lady wardens, lady wardens and students and teaching staff from Riphah University. On the occasion, the CTO announced free admissions for the participants from Riphah University.

A walk to create awareness on importance of the day and rights of women was also organised on the occasion. The spokesman of City Traffic Police in a statement said that the event was held as per vision of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz and directives of IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and Additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig.

‘Women’s participation key for economic growth targets’

Islamabad: Women economic empowerment is key to Pakistan’s development.Women participation in workforce has positive impact on economy. In Bangladesh, 38% women representation has helped in minimising inequality. In Pakistan, more women participation will ¬be helpful in achieving our economic growth targets. This was stated by Dr. Ishrat Hussain, former governor State Bank of Pakistan on the awards ceremony of Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Benchmarks (GDEIB) awards 2023.

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024, HR Metrics organised GDEIB awards ceremony, in which ‘Inspirational Women of the Year Award’ was conferred upon Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, caretaker finance minister and Musharaf Hai, former CEO Unilever and L,oreal Pakistan.
