PESHAWAR: KP Assembly Deputy Speaker Suriya Bibi has hoped Pakistan-China friendship will get stronger with time.
“I believe that CPEC [China-Pakistan Economic Corridor] is a plan for the economic development of Pakistan,” she said while visiting China Window — a Chinese Cultural Centre.Suriya Bibi, who hails from Chitral, said China had helped Pakistan in every difficult time and now the CPEC Project would play a role in the economic development of Pakistan.
Citing one example, she said 200,000 jobs would be created with the establishment of Rashkai Economic Zone.The lawmaker suggested the KP backward areas, especially Chitral, should be given a share in the CPEC.
Suriya Bibi termed the Chinese language important for the future and said that was the need of the hour to learn the language so that people could get jobs in the ongoing projects of Chinese investors in Pakistan.She praised the China Window for strengthening the friendship between the two countries.Later, she distributed certificates to the students of the Chinese language learning course.
Earlier in his speech, Peshawar Press Club President Arshad Aziz Malik said the government’s focus should be on economic development so that production could increase and People get jobs. He said Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had indicated in his first speech on the floor of the KP Assembly to take steps to improve the economy which he said was a good omen.
