Pabbi LG reps to stage sit-in tomorrow
NOWSHERA: The members of Pabbi Tehsil Council will hold sit-ins outside the offices of local officials to protest their indifferent attitude towards the people’s issues, including lawlessness in the district tomorrow.
The council session was held with Speaker Essa Khan in the chair, while the chairmen of village and neighbourhood councils attended it in a large number. The speakers said that they had summoned the local officials, including assistant commissioner, deputy superintendent of police and Pesco sub-divisional officer but they did not turn up.
“We are public representatives and government officials get their salaries from our taxes,” a village council chairman said, adding that people were faced with the worst law and order situation but the police and district administration had turned a blind eye to the issues.
They also condemned the prevalent rampant corruption in government offices, rusting of tehsil municipal administration vehicles and hours-long gas and electricity loadshedding in the district.
