Islamabad: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) is holding open court (E-Khuli Kutcheri), on regular grounds. In this regard, Inspector General, National Highways and Motorways Police Salman Chaudhry participated in the open court, on FM-95 Radio and NHMP official Face book and answered the frequently asked questions from different walks of life across the country, says a press release.

Speaking to the citizens, IG Salman Chaudhry said that the first priority of the NHMP is to make the journey of the citizens safe and secure. The citizens put their suggestions before the IG. The IG told the listeners that due to effective measures on motorways and highways, there has been a clear reduction in the accident.

He also requested the citizens to cooperate with the NHMP. Do follow the traffic rules for the sake of their own safety. The IG stated that such forums are the best means of direct communication with commuters and general public. Road Safety training Institutes will be opened soon all over the country to improve the driving skills of the citizen. Stern action will be taken against the kite flyers with the help of local police so that motorcyclists remained safe from any untoward situation. Implementation of axle load control regime is being ensured. Therefore, it is a special request to the transport union and goods transport owners to cooperate regarding this noble cause to save our National Highways.

In this open court, IG, categorically highlighted welfare issues of the force and said that all possible efforts will be made to resolve them. Advertisement will be announced in near future for new recruitments to meet acute shortage of manpower in NHMP.
