KARACHI: The Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFCL) has welcomed the announcement of rollback in feed gas prices for the fertiliser sector raised back in September 2015, a statement said on Friday.
FFC Chief Executive and Managing director Lt Gen Shafqaat Ahmed, HI (M) Retd, welcomed the government’s gesture and said: "This initiative will enable the fertiliser industry to continue its support to the agriculture sector in Pakistan by providing fertiliser at affordable prices."
As a consequence, FFC has announced an immediate reduction in its urea prices.
Ahmed said that FFC is particularly grateful to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industries, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and the Ministry of National Food Security and Research for their concerted endeavours to uplift the farm economy, besides reducing stress on domestic fertiliser industry.
FFC being leader in domestic urea production has always worked closely with the government to provide affordable fertilisers to the farmers.
