MULTAN: The Election Commission of Pakistan has adjourned the petition challenging the victory notification of former premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, who contested from NA-148 Multan-I.
The ECP adjourned the hearing until March 4 after the assistant returning officer concerned submitted the report about the constituency on Wednesday, as stated by the petitioner’s lawyer.
PTI-backed Independent candidate Barrister Taimur Mahay had filed his petition before the ECP, challenging the victory notification of Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani, citing a significant difference between the Form-45 and Form-47 results, which allegedly led to the petitioner’s defeat by more than 100 votes.
