PPP leader demands NA session
LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Syed Ali Haider Gilani has said that the National Assembly session should not be delayed for any unnecessary reason.In a statement issued on Sunday, Syed Ali Haider Gilani said that it was unfortunate that the President's House was once again being used for anti-democratic purposes.
He added that as per the Constitution, the President was bound to act on the advice of Prime Minister. Article 91 of the Constitution, he said binds him to summon the NA session in stipulate period of time. Gilani added that Dr Arif Alvi was still occupying Presidency despite the completion of his term. He went on to say that the NA session should not be made the victim of personal vendetta.
