Lahore Literary Festival kicks off at Alhamra

LAHORE: Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) 2024 kicked off with a grand inaugural ceremony at Alhamra Arts Centre on Friday transforming the City into a literary powerhouse.

Renowned poet Iftikhar Arif, former principal NCA Salima Hashmi, LLF Chairman Iqbal Z Ahmed, CEO Aziz Boolani, Razi Ahmed, British Council's Country Director James Hampson, and Head of Communication Trade and Political E.U. Pakistan Piotr Buszta participated in the inaugural ceremony.

A melodious Qawwali was also presented at the opening ceremony where Iftikhar Arif and Salima Hashmi also spoke. The top writers, intellectuals, and artists from several countries are featuring in Lahore Literary Festival, which promotes literature, arts, and culture annually. The grandeur of the festival, echoing through the halls, symbolised Lahore's unyielding commitment to intellectual exploration, cultural richness and artistic innovation. Alhamra pulsated with literary energy, hosting various spellbinding sessions, from soul-stirring musical performances to Joseph Massad's keynote on Islam in liberalism, enthralling screenings, and engaging book discussions.

The festival's kaleidoscopic diversity was reflected in the passionate dialogue, sparking intellectual fireworks. As the literary celebration unfolds, Alhamra Arts Centre stands as the vibrant crucible of culture, fostering an environment where words become a dynamic force. Several entertaining and informative events will be presented in the coming days in the Lahore Literary Festival.
