CDA seals 26 buildings

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed 26 buildings in two private housing societies of Islamabad on violation of building bye-laws.

According to details, the Building Control Section of CDA sealed 17 buildings in Soan Garden and nine buildings in Ghori Town after finding severe violation of building bye-laws. An official of CDA said that owners of sealed buildings have also been issued notices to demolish illegal parts of their constructed properties.

The official said that the operations in two housing societies were conducted as part of CDA's campaign against encroachments and illegal construction in urban areas and different housing schemes. It may be pointed out here that most of the private housing societies have created residential and commercial plots on the land reserved for play grounds, graveyards and area meant for other amenities.
