WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday and said the United States was committed to supporting Ukraine’s fight against a Russian invasion, the White House said in a statement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he spoke by telephone to US President Joe Biden and expressed hope that the U.S. Congress would make a “wise decision” on approving a delayed large aid package to Kyiv. “We discussed the current frontline situation. I am grateful to have President Biden’s full support,” Zelensky wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “I also believe that the US Congress will make a wise decision.”
