Imports from India jump to $32.6m in January
Sources say that there was an increase in Pakistani imports from India in February and May last year

ISLAMABAD: Imports from India have increased once again despite suspension of trade with it.
In the first month of the year 2024, a large increase of twenty-nine percent was recorded in Pakistani imports from India. Imports from India increased for the third time in a year. According to official sources, the imports from India stood at $32.6 million in January after an annual increase of 29%, whereas in January 2023, the volume of imports from India was $25.4 million. Sources say that there was an increase in Pakistani imports from India in February and May last year. According to officials, Pakistan had suspended trade with India in August 2019, but later it relaxed it and allowed the trade of life-saving medicines.
