3,660 drug dealers held in one month

LAHORE:Last month police across the province conducted 6,500 raids on hideouts of drug peddlers and booked 3,650 accused and arrested 3,660 drug dealers and recovered 2,030 kg charas, 39 kg heroin, 8 kg ice and 60,400 litre liquor from the possession of accused.

The police recovered Rs 286 million, 92 tola gold, Rs 263million worth stolen items, 1,550 motorcycles and vehicles, 730 mobile phones and 170 cattle from the possession of criminals and handed over to their owners.

The police recovered 2,855 illegal pistols, 252 rifles, 35 revolvers, 231 guns and 118 Kalashnikovs from accused. The police arrested 8,310 proclaimed offenders (POs), 5,870 court absconders and 2,266 target offenders. The police recovered Rs 183 million from 735 gangsters. Police issued 71,780 Citizen Certificates, 15,025 Tenancy Registration, 66,030 verifications, 9,864 loss reports through Police Khidmat Centres. The traffic police issued licenses to 1,293,900 citizens and collected Rs 459 million in the form of fines for violation of laws in the national treasury. The police issued 18,410 challans to accused in anti-smog operations, impounded 8,050 vehicles and imposed Rs 6,000,000 fine on violators.
