PESHAWAR: A lady doctor and her father-in-law were shot dead when armed motorcyclists opened fire on a moving car in Gulbahar on Monday.Police said Dr Zainab, along with her father-in-law Sabir Hussain Imdad, was on her way in Gulbahar when three armed men chased their vehicle on a motorbike.
The attackers opened fire on the car as it entered a narrow street.The closed-circuit television cameras installed on the main Gulbahar Road showed the armed men chasing the car till it took a turn after which they opened fire on the vehicle.
Locals said the slain Sabir Hussain Imdad was former employee of the Pakistan Air Force and a poet. The target killing incidents in Peshawar and other parts of the province are on the rise as several groups of target killers are reportedly operating in various parts of the provincial capital.
