PU holds seminar on ‘Kashmir: Past and Present’
LAHORE : Punjab University Pakistan Study Centre (PSC) organised a seminar on ‘Kashmir: Past and Present’ in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Associate Prof of Department of Kashmiriat Dr Sardar Asghar Iqbal, Director PSC Prof Dr Naumana Kiran, faculty members and students were present.
In his keynote address, Dr Sardar Asghar Iqbal presented an in-depth analysis of the Kashmir issue. From the Pakistani perspective, he analyzed Pakistan’s policy towards Kashmir. He based his arguments on history and referred to authentic books to support his stance. He skillfully connected the past to the present and talked in detail about the current issues as well.
Dr Naumana Kiran said that Dr Asghar’s address was solution oriented and a hopeful note towards a positive direction.
She said that the event provided an opportunity to delve into the complexities and intricacies surrounding the Kashmir issue and to raise awareness about it.
PU students praised for health-oriented activities
The Nutrition and Well-Being Society of the Punjab University’s Institute of Social & Cultural Studies (ISCS) in collaboration with the Workplace Health and Safety Promotion Community has presented the annual report of 2023 and the calendar of 2024 to the Director Students Affairs Dr Muhammad Ali Klasra.
On this occasion, Director ISCS, Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, Dr Nouman, members of the Nutrition and Well-Being Society and students were present.
In his address, Dr Klasra appreciated the students' presentation. He also praised the students, faculty and the department for organising informative and health-oriented activities. Dr Rubeena Zakar commending the students for their hard work and extending thanks to the esteemed guests.
Dr Nouman Ali provided a brief overview of student activities, encouraging and appreciating them for their outstanding performance. Students from the Workplace Health and Safety Promotion Community then outlined their goals, mission, and vision, along with a summary of past-year activities.
PU to remain closed from 6th to 9th
Punjab University (PU) will remain closed from February 6 to 9, 2024 on account of general election, said a PU spokesperson in a press release issued on Saturday.
