Nawaz vows to lower prices of flour, sugar, vegetables

Nawaz said not only the metro bus project but also orange line train would also be launched in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo Nawaz Sharif said Friday had his government not been toppled for not receiving salary from his son, no one would have been jobless today.

Speaking at a public gathering at Dhobi Ghat ground in Faisalabad, he recalled his tenure as premier when bread was sold for five rupees, sugar for 35 rupees per kilogram, flour for 20 rupees per kg, and vegetables were available for 10 rupees per kg. He pledged to bring back those days, if elected to power once again.

Nawaz highlighted his government’s achievements in 2013 and successfully handling load-shedding crisis and combating terrorism, while his opponents were staging sit-ins. He stressed that they were not making hollow slogans as “we know how to fulfil our commitments”.

Nawaz said not only the metro bus project but also orange line train would also be launched in Faisalabad. He expressed his vision for a vibrant and prosperous Faisalabad, and constructing motorways in all four sides of the city. He told Shehbaz Sharif that no one should remain unemployed after five years if the PMLN forms government again. He mentioned the absence of Chaudhry Sher Ali and praised Rana Sanaullah’s loyalty.

Nawaz called on the PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif promised to further elevate the city’s status by introducing the metro bus and establishing Pakistan’s most magnificent Arfa Kareem IT University there.

PMLN Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz, addressing the rally, said “her party competes in service of people instead of blame-game, insults and indecency.
