UHS Board considers 25 thesis reports
LAHORE : The 198th meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was held here on Thursday with UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Ahsan Waheed Rathore in the chair.
The board considered 25 reports on theses submitted by the students, including Dr Maria Zafar MPhil (Anatomy), Dr Muhammad Umer MPhil (Chemical Pathology), Dr Samina Batool MPhil (Community Medicine), Dr Faiqua Munir MPhil (Human Genetics & Molecular Biology), Dr Waqas Bashir MS (Neurosurgery), Dr Hira Iqbal MS (Obst & Gynae), Dr Taimoor Nawaz MS (Orthopedics), Dr Maria Tariq MS (Urology), Dr Muhammad Saddam MD (Internal Medicine), Dr Sara Qureshi MDS (Prosthodontics), Dr Hina Ahmad, a student of MHPE, Dr Hafiza Asma Nazir MPhil (Community Medicine), Dr Yasir Ali Khan MS (Cardiothoracic Surgery), Dr Usama Khalid MS (ENT), Dr Nabeela Riaz MS (General Surgery), Dr Arslan Ishtiaq MS (General Surgery), Dr Muhammad Tanveer MD (Internal Medicine), Dr Arif Hussain MS (Orthopaedics), Dr Syed Zain Abbas MS (Orthopaedic Surgery), Dr Aymen Naeem MS (Paediatric Surgery), Dr Aleena Tahir MS (Paediatric Surgery), Dr Yusra Balouch MS (Paediatric Surgery), Dr Umair Khizar MD (Paediatrics), Dr Muhammad Abid MD (Radiology) and Dr Muhammad Mustafa MD (Paediatrics). The synopses of 27 students were also considered for registration to various postgraduate courses in the meeting.
PU students display thesis
Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood has said that art is one of the best ways to highlight social issues and the manner in which the PU students highlighted various problems of the society through their artwork is highly commendable. He was addressing the opening ceremony of the thesis exhibition of Master of Fine Arts (MFA) students organised by Punjab University College of Art and Design (PUCAD).
The students of the Fine Arts Department and Graphic Arts Department presented artworks in the exhibition. Principal College of Art and Design Dr Sumera Jawad, Chairperson of Fine Arts Department Dr Samina Naseem, Chairman of Graphics Art Department Atif Aamir, faculty members and students participated.
Khalid Mahmood and others appreciated the artwork of the students who reflected individual’s concerns and societal problems through their creative masterpieces.
