ISLAMABAD: Founding member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its ex-information secretary Akbar S Babar Saturday informed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja about the recent national conference and the resolution adopted by it.

Babar wrote a letter to the CEC and said that a national conference of PTI founding members and former office bearers from across the country was held on January 25, 2024 in Islamabad (signed list of participants attached). He made reference to the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan Civil Petition No. 42/2024, the Election Commission of Pakistan Case No 3 (10)/2022-Confd and the Election Commission of Pakistan Case No 5(1)/2023-O/o-DD-Law.

The conference, he wrote, was presided over by Saeedullah Khan Niazi, PTI Founding Member and Founding President PTI Punjab. The resolution passed unanimously at the conclusion of the conference declared that the present defunct PTI leadership has lost all legal, political and moral right to lead the party and rejected the very notion of defunct PTI leadership conducting fresh intra party elections. The conference declared that any attempt by the defunct PTI leadership to hold fresh intra party elections will be challenged at all legal forums (copy of resolution attached). The delegates decided to organize fresh intra party elections. In this regard, central and provincial organizing committees would be announced soon to organize the party across the country
