What’s the point?

One wonders, given the assortment of tried, tested, and failed leaders that compromise the candidates to lead our nation for the next five years, just what good a free and fair election will do? Even assuming that we manage to accomplish such a feat in the first place.

Their recently-acquired capacity to ‘unite’ gleefully despite having called each other all sorts of names in the past is ominous for the people. The latter are largely divided and undiscerning and stand little chance against the formidable gang of looters and plunderers.
