Population control

The biggest challenge for Pakistan is not its public debt, water shortage, food scarcity, or lack of exports but its exploding population. The first task of the government that is formed after the February 8th elections must be to tackle how to reduce the population growth rate.
Currently, there are over 26 million out-of-school-children in the country, which is around the same as the entire population of Australia. The rapidly growing population will only exacerbate our many problems and lead to more dismal human development statistics.
