Families of 13 martyred cops given cheques
LAHORE : IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar gave Rs5 lakh each via cheques to families of the 13 police martyrs, who embraced martyrdom before 2017 for construction of houses at a ceremony held at Central Police Office on Friday.
IG Punjab also gave laptops to daughters of two martyrs and a serving policeman. He said that Punjab Police has so far given Rs1.95 million to the families of 17 martyrs for the construction of houses. According to the details, financial aid cheques were given to the families of Nazir Ahmed Shaheed, Ghulam Murtaza and Gulfam Shahzad Shaheed of Lahore Police for the construction of houses. Families of Rawalpindi Police's Khalid Mehmood, Faisalabad Police's martyrs Abdul Rauf and Riaz Hussain received cheques of Rs5 lakh each. Similarly, cheques were given to the families of M Ameen of Bahawalnagar and M Athar of Bahawalpur. Rs5 lakh cheques were given to the families of M Waris, M Amjad, M Arshad, of Gujrat police and Saeed Ahmed of Khanewal and Ehsaan ullah of Okara police. IG Punjab awarded laptops to Maryam Zafar, daughter of Zafar Iqbal Shaheed, Sara Shahid, daughter of Shaheed Inspector Rana Shahid and Zoha Bibi, daughter of M Zahid of Rahim Yar Khan.
IG lauds DGK police
Dera Ghazi Khan DPO Ahmad Mohiuddin and his team called on Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar at the Central Police Office on Friday in reference of the police station diaries.
IG Punjab appreciated the police team for thwarting the entry attempt and attack of terrorists of banned organisation from Jhangi check post with timely action.
37 cops honoured
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar awarded certificates of appreciation and cash prizes to 37 officers and officials of Lahore and Sheikhupura for showing excellent performance at Central Police Office.
Additional SP Operation Iqbal Town Ahmed Zunair Cheema and his team were awarded with letters of appreciation for transforming the Iqbal Town police station into an exemplary Special Initiative Police Station. DSP Atif Meraj, Sub Inspector Syed Qamar Abbas, TSI Shaban Akram, ASI Umar Javed, Head Constable Aamir Butt, Constables M Husnain and M Imran were given certificates of appreciation and cash prizes.
Lady constables Aneela Bashir and Nimra Akram were given certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for arresting the wanted accused in the cases of motorcycle robbery. 27 officers and personnel were awarded certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for arresting dangerous criminals and bringing them to justice in Sheikhupura. SHO Imran Khalid and ASI M Malik were awarded certificates and awards for arresting drug dealers and smugglers in separate incidents.
