Electricity workers observe ‘Martyrs Day’

LAHORE : Electricity Workers observed ‘Martyrs Day’ on Wednesday all over the country under the auspices of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union (CBA) to pay tribute to the sacrifices of electricity workers who died during the performance of their duties one after another.
In a meeting held at Bakhtiar Labour Hall, workers paid tribute to their services and urged the workers to observe safety at work place and demanded the management of Electricity and Federal Minister for Energy redress the serious issue of shortage of staff.

The workers have been demonstrating exemplary contribution to work even on weekly holidays and late hours for prevention of theft of electricity and recovery of lawful dues of electricity.
General Secretary of the union Khurshid Ahmad urged the electricity workers to observe safety measures during the performance of their duties and not take risks of working in unsafe working conditions in accordance with standing rules.
