NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) head Pervez Khattak said on Wednesday that nation would hold Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan accountable in the forthcoming elections slated for February 8.

“Former PM Imran Khan had set a new record of corruption. He had deceived masses with hollow slogans of providing 10 million jobs to the youths and constructing five million houses for the poor,” he said while speaking at the party office-bearers and workers’ convention at PK-86 constituency.

The PTIP candidate for NA-34 and PK-89, Dr Imran Khattak, PK-85 aspirant Ibrahim Khattak, PK-86 candidate Ismail Khattak and others also addressed the gatherings.Pervez Khattak said that Tabdeeli Khan had snatched two-time meal and shelter from the destitute instead of materializing his own promises.

He said that the PTI candidates, who are now contesting polls, would join other political parties after winning the elections in search of greener pastures, as the party had no future.

Pervez Khattak said that he was heading the election campaign of his party and it would secure a two-thirds majority in the next election, adding that he would again become the chief minister.

The PTIP head said that he served the people of KP when he was the chief minister from 2013 to 2018. “My rivals are making only pledges in a bid to deceive the people,” he said, adding, the PTIP was becoming popular day by day and several people had joined it. He said that rival political parties were afraid of his popularity and looking for excuses to flee from the general elections.

Khattak claimed that he had taken a number of practical steps for developing this region, unlike his predecessors whom he accused of paying only lip-service.The former defence minister said that he had launched a number of mega development projects such as Bus Rapid Transit, Pak-China Economic Corridor in KP, Rashakai Special Economic Zone, Azakhel Dryport.

The PTIP chief also criticised the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and Awami National Party for deceiving the masses with catchy slogans.
