“The PTI has been stripped of its iconic election symbol ‘bat’ because of imprudent policies of the party chief and his henchmen,” he said while speaking at a party gathering in Jehangira. The PTIP candidate for NA-34 and PK-89, Dr Imran Khattak, PK-85 aspirant Ibrahim Khattak, PK-86 candidate, Ismail Khattak, former tehsil nazim Sadiq Khan and others also addressed the gathering.

On this occasion, a number of local activists quit their respective political parties and announced joining the PTIP.Pevez Khattak accused the political parties, including the PTI, of burdening the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with huge loans and doing nothing for the welfare and development of the province. He urged the people to reject them in the general elections slated for February 8.

He said that rival political parties were afraid of his popularity and looking for excuses to flee from the general elections.“I will not let them flee from the election arena,” he vowed, adding that PTIP would win polls with a thumping majority while the successful candidates would join his party as well.

He said that he had served as the KP chief minister from 2013 to 2018 during the PTI government in the province and remained a federal minister for almost four years when the party was in power at the Centre.

He said that he had taken a number of practical steps for developing this region, unlike his predecessors whom he accused of paying only lip-service.Recounting his achievements, he said that he had launched a number of mega development projects such as Bus Rapid Transit, Pak-China Economic Corridor in KP, Rashakai Special Economic Zone, Azakhel Dryport.

The PTIP chief also came down hard on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and Awami National Party after accusing them of deceiving masses with catchy slogans.

He said that these politicians were two faces of the same coin, claing that former PM Imran Khan had set a new record of corruption and malpractices. He said the PTI had fooled the people by promising them a ‘change’. “This party had promised to provide 10 million jobs to the youth and construct five million houses for the poor. But the Tabdeeli Khan snatched two-time meal and shelter from the destitute instead of materializing his own promises,” he added.
