After printing of ballot papers in printing press, it is responsibility of concerned DROs or their designated officials to safely transport them to offices of District Returning Officers
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan clarified on Saturday that given the seriousness of the situation in some places, Pakistan Army personnel will also provide security during the transportation of ballot papers.
An election commission spokesperson, in a statement issued here, addressed reports in some newspapers about security in the process of delivering ballot papers to the offices of district returning officers.
He noted that after the printing of ballot papers in the printing press, it is the responsibility of the concerned DROs or their designated officials to safely transport them to the offices of District Returning Officers. These officers ensure secure transportation of ballot papers under their supervision and under the protective custody of local police officials. However, considering the seriousness of the situation in some places, Pakistan Army personnel will also provide security during the transportation of ballot papers.
