Efforts underway to improve health system: minister

LAHORE : Caretaker Punjab Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram attended the 5th Vice Chancellors, Principals and Medical Superintendents conference as a guest of honour at a local hotel on Saturday.

Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan, Special Secretary Raja Mansoor Ahmed, Additional Secretaries Zahida Azhar, Shahida Farrukh, M Waseem, Agha Nabil, Dr Asim Altaf, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti, Deputy Secretaries and other officials attended the conference.

Vice-Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, VC King Edward Medical University Prof Dr Mahmood Ayaz, VC University of Child Health Sciences Prof Dr Masood Sadiq, VC Nishtar Medical University, VC Faisalabad Medical University Prof Dr Zafar Chaudhry, VC Rawalpindi Medical University Prof Dr Umar and VC University of Health Sciences Prof Dr Ahsan Waheed Rathore, Principal Amir ud din Medical College Prof Dr Sardar Al Farid Zafar, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Dr Ayesha Arif, Principal Services Institute of Medical Sciences Prof Dr Zohra Khanum, Executive Director Punjab Institute Neurosciences Prof Dr Asif Bashir and other principals also attended the moot.

Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram and Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan reviewed the performance of government teaching hospitals during the conference.
