A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of a residential building in Karachi on Thursday, police said.
The incident occurred in the North Karachi area within the limits of the Khawaja Ajmir Nagri police station. Following the incident, police and rescue services reached the spot and shifted the casualty to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.
The woman was identified as 46-year-old Shumaila Yasmin. Police said that she along with her three children lived in an apartment on the seventh floor of the building. Two days ago, her children had moved in with their father and her ex-husband in Defence Housing Authority. Police suspected that the woman took her life because of emotional distress, however further investigation was underway.
